Recipe for Coconut Pecan Icing. This is the icing used for classic German Chocolate Cakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 beaten egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/3 cups sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients except coconut and pecans in a medium saucepan and cook over low heat until mixture thickens, about 10 - 12 minutes. Stir in coconut and pecans. Cool before frosting cake. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
