Here's a delicious recipe for apple-cherry relish.


  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and diced
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped dried tart cherries
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Combine all ingredients in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat; bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer the relish, stirring occasionally, until the apples and onion are tender and the cherries are plump, about 4 to 5 minutes; let it rest, uncovered, until it comes down to room temperature; serve or put in airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
