Whether it's taco Tuesday or taco Monday through Friday, these tacos are bursting with sweet, spicy and tangy flavor all at the same time.

These light and fresh tacos are just what the doctor ordered. Spicy, sweet, tangy and then repeat. When I'm eating these it makes me think of a sandy beach and a beautiful sunset. So go ahead and escape for just a moment, dig your feet into the warm sand while enjoying each and every bite of these delicious tacos.

Blackened shrimp soft tacos with cilantro lime and mango salsa recipe

Serves 2


For the blackened shrimp:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup cooked, peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 3 dashes salt

For the cilantro lime and mango salsa:

  • 1 mango, peeled and diced
  • 3 tablespoons diced red onion
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
  • 2 dashes salt

For the tacos:

  • 4 corn tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded green cabbage
  • Blackened shrimp
  • Cilantro lime and mango salsa


For the blackened shrimp:

  1. Heat a medium-size skillet on medium heat and add the butter, shrimp, chili powder, paprika, pepper, cumin and salt.
  2. Stir together and let cook until the shrimp is evenly coated (about 4 to 5 minutes).
  3. Remove from the heat and set aside.

For the cilantro lime and mango salsa:

  1. Add all ingredients in a small bowl and mix together.

For the tacos:

  1. Lay the tortillas flat on a large plate.
  2. Lay another plate that's the same size upside down on top of the plate with the tortillas. Warm in the microwave for about 1 minute.
  3. Top each tortilla with the shredded cabbage.
  4. Add the shrimp and top with the salsa.
  5. Serve while the tortilla is warm.
