Consumer Product review of the Kuhn Rikon Whisk Vase
This is the type of kitchen gadget I love -- the kind that's so simple, yet so brilliant, it makes you ponder the question, "why didn't I think of that?!"

What you get is a small bottle in which to mix homemade salad dressings.  For convenience sake, the bottle comes adorned with measurement lines that allow you to simply dump the salad dressing ingredients directly in without having to dirty measuring cups.  Nice enough, but the brilliance comes into play once you've put all the dressing ingredients into the bottle.  For also inside is a small stainless steel whisk fashioned into the shape of a ball.  The round shape keeps the whisk from every escaping the glass bottle enclosure.

When you shake the bottle, the whisk does its work, perfectly emulsifying acids like vinegars and fruit juices into salad oils or egg yolks.  Store the whole thing in the fridge until you use all the dressing, then take it apart and clean in soapy water or on the top shelf of your dishwasher.

I never cease to be amazed by how many people buy salad dressings when it's so easy and inexpensive to make your own (not mention healthier, no preservatives, high fructose corn syprup, or other unwanted ingredients in homemade).  With Kuhn Rikon's Vase Whisk it just got even quicker and easier.
